Do you have a passion for mushrooms, not the ones that help you reach higher levels of consciousness. Many mushrooms are fun, as edibles or collectibles, as a hobby or for health, but they can be deadly too! Mushrooms, and mycelium in particular, can literally help save the world. I am not talking about the psilocybin, which for the recrod we are not against. But all the other amazing abilities of mushrooms that people know very little about. Mushrooms are infact the fruiting body of a strong, healthy, mycelium network, which can thrive off of such things as nuclear waste and other highly toxic debris. When mycelium is thriving on such waste, it is literally deconstructing its substrate on atomic levels turning it, literally, into organic dirt, into healthy organic material. This process is explained in the book called "Mycelium Running", "How mushrooms can save the world".

Did you know mushrooms can mind control ants! See below
Denver Shrooms, a Colorado website for tools, tips and eventually sales of mushrooms and such shroom related things.
For now this website as you see it today, is just the beginning of what it may become. Denver Shroom originated as an idea after hearing about the possibility of psilocybin (psilocin) also known as Magic Mushrooms, being made legal in Colorado. This doesnt mean we are for or against these type of mushrooms, it means that attention to mushrooms in general is increasing, and there are many things about shrooms that people do not know. Talks of psilocybin legalization, a thing began in 2018, may take years to reach an outcome, or final resolution. Even then the resolution can be appealed, and there may be push and shove coming from both sides. We may completely drop the magic mushroom side of things, focusing on the Vitamin B rich mushrooms of which there are so many varieties, but in fact even the psilocybin's have some benefits and some pretty asstoishing ones too at that! We do plan on having help and tools for growing shrooms as well as foraging. It is not clear at this time exactly where we will go, but may follow the law and just see where it leads us!

You may think magic mushrooms are taboo, regardless if they become legal or not. I don't blame you for thinking this because we are all brought up to believe this in some form. However if these psychoactive mushrooms are used safely and responsibly in a friendly and comfortable environment they can actually have some very interesting benefits to ones mental health, and outlook on the world around us. They are natural after all, and created for a purpose. What that purpose is may depend on the individual.
Well before this website was started and the domain , Denver Mushrooms, was obtained we began growing our own mushrooms. We currently have only two strains but they are doing well. Mushrooms can take years to grow, so its good to get a head start and to be mentally prepared with an abundance of patience! Interestingly however, mycelium (the white fungi base of the actual fruiting mushroom) can grow as fast as an inch a day once it gets going (given that the conditions are right). Mushrooms need to be married with the organic material, compound, wood, that they prefer. Some mushrooms grow around pine trees, others prefer cedar, and so on and so forth. For the best possibly chance of success you should know what type of material your shrooms like.
"Magic" mushrooms sometimes called Golden Teacher or B+ scientifically known as psilocybe azurescens and psilocybe cyanescens, can actually be used to restore nature to better than before conditions after a catastrophes such as chemical warfare where nerve gas was used! Where these types of mushroom are often illegal, non-fruiting strains could be created that can be widely used to clean un contaminated environments, eliminating, breaking down and destroying DMMP and VX.

Paul Stamets, author of "Growing gourmet and medical mushrooms", suspects certain magic mushroom strains, in particular the mycelium of them, can also break down other type of chemical weapons, pesticides, herbicides and other industrial toxins through a process called Mycoremediation.

Mycoremediation can be used to remove toxins and heavy metals from the environment. Such toxins exist not only in places of chemical warfare or heavy industrial activity but are also found all around us. Heavy metal toxins are likely polluting your health more than you realize. This can be to stemming from anything from the results of accidental spills to airplane chemtrails and the chemicals used to treat our drinking water.
If your into natural remedies to clean our environment, another things to look into is rock powder. Rock powder such as volcanic ash can replace lost minerals in soil.

So you have obtained a strain that you want to grow, now what? You do not need a pressure cooker, you only need knowledge, and here it is; fill a glass jar, one that you have a good sealing lid for, with the appropriate substrate that your strain likes, such as bird seed, if your wanting to grow a common psilocybe to help clean up mother earth (consider other types of mushrooms unless you have heavy toxins, also in the event your strains fruit (they will) make sure to keep them away from children and animals and anyone else whom may accidentally consume them), bird seed works very well. Non-treated wood chips, non-salted sunflower seed shells and even miracle grow (or a mix of these) may also provide you great results. Add a little less than half water to your jar once its filled with your substrate. If you are doing multiple jars add a little more water and a little less water to different ones. It is possible that not all your jars will be a success. Put the lid onto the jar nice and tight. Place this jar into a pot or pan filled with water, over your stove, or fire.

The jar/s should be at least 85% covered by the water, if not completely submerged. Bring the water to a boil (not a rolling boil where you lose water out the side of the pot) and let the jars sit in this boiling water for a couple of hours, you may need to add a little more water at some point. If you need to add water, try to do a little at a time as to not drop the water temperature and stop your boil. The longer you can maintain the jars in this boil the better chance you have at killing all the micro organisms, bacteria, and otherwise evading fungi and spores that are inside. Once confident of this, or as much as one can be, Let the water cool down, then remove the jar/s.

Let the jar/s completely cool down before proceeding. Five to six hours is probably good, or just wait until the following day. In a small space such as inside a car or in a small bathroom you will quickly, but without moving too much air around you, crack the lid as little as possible to slide in your spore print (only a very small amount is actually needed) or to inject some of your liquid spores from a syringe. The idea is to be sterile and let nothing in, not even your breath, except the spores you want to grow. So, make sure doors and windows around you are shut, fans are off, and use common sense. Get as creative as you need for this step.

That's it. Now, you place them in a dark place such as a basement or closet and wait. It can take several weeks to as long as a year, this depends on many things. If all went well, at some point you will see white fuzz starting to grow. Let this continue until the entire inside is nearly white. You may even see a sprouting mushroom inside the jar smashing itself up against the glass. At this stage you poor out the contents of your creation into whatever other substrate you have readied (such as a tub of bird seed, wood chips, etc...) and mushrooms should grow for you, like crazy.

Carpenter Ant's can be literally mind controlled when after fungi infects them, causing them to ditch their colonies to climb to as high as they can atop the jungle canopy using a near by tree.

The ant, being programmed, is told  to lock its mandible into a leaf high up, where its job as transportation to the fungi is done, and the ant is then either killed or the fungi waits for it to die (it is unclear which, as it is also unclear how the fungi can do this).

Once dead the fungi uses the organic compounds of the ants body to grow its mycelium so it can then fruit a mushroom. Once this mushroom is fruited it is the winds job to then spread spores far and wide! You see why we love mushrooms more than just for the magic shrooms being debated now in Denver!? They are amazing.

Figure 115 to the right is from the book mentioned above, Mycelium Running (highly recommended). We as humans, have only recently made such discoveries like mind controlled ants, imagine what else mushrooms are doing that we are not yet aware of.

We will post more links, pages and information for buying shrooms, mushrooms, here or in and around Denver, as time goes on.
